New archeological finding - the Mongol Warrior of the 12-th-14th century
During rescue operations in the Altai region, archeologists discovered the Mongol Warrior's burial of the 12th-14th century.
As the press center of the regional directorate of culture and archival business stated, a Mongol warrior's skeleton was found in a well-preserved birch box in the “Kalistratiha 3” Graveyard. Additional items of interest found during the operations include a bark quiver with iron- and bone-tipped arrows, a composite bow, a bronze plaque and a possible bowstring. There was also an iron knife in a wooden sheath under the bones. In addition, wooden buckles, remnants of cloth, fragments of iron buckles and a leather belt were found in the burial.
