Since May, 28 a regular flight Moscow-Gorno-Altaysk will be opened


Since May, 28 regular flights between Moscow and Gorno-Altaysk will open. The leaders of S7 and the government of Altay signed a framework agreement of intent. It is planned that the flights will be carried out three times a week in summer time, and in winter time – two times a week.

 
If the load during the Low Season is incomplete, the Altay government intends to subsidize the flights. The price of one-way ticket is expected to be around 8-10 thousands rubles, and the two-way airfare from Moscow to the Altay capital – around 15 thousand rubles. From the end of 2011 the airline company “Angara” operates direct flights between Novosibirsk and Gorno-Altaysk on aircrafts AN-24 twice a week. Now these flights are subsidized by Altay.  There are also transit flights to Gorno-Altaysk over Surgut and Nizhnevartovsk. According to Robert Partaller, in the future air services to Novosibirsk must occur daily. The Altay government is also interested in opening flights to Yekaterinburg, Krasnoyarsk and Saint-Petersburg.

Note: Gorno-Altaysk airport, who finished its reconstruction in autumn 2011 can take the medium-class aircrafts Boeing-737, Boeing-757, Аirbus-320, Аirbus-319, Tu-204. The runway length has increased from 1300 to 2300 meters and a major overhaul of the airport complex was made. Besides, the lighting and navigation equipment was established.
